Why would you even consider it when you can get a one piece sparkplug now for your application?

I'm sure you can probably weld it, whether or not it will still screw in and work afterwards is a different story...

I wouldn't risk it....just buy the one piece plugs from champion.

Rather do OEM Motorcraft or a good aftermarket like NGK or Bosch

It sure can! How good are you at fine line tig welding??? I have done it to a lot of these plugs before the one piece came out. It takes about 3 mins a plug to do so it is time consuming but results in zero % failure rate later on!

Sounds like you have a Niche business! You couldn't keep up with all the 5.4Ls out there!

you could probably get a stronger weld by removing the heads, and welding the shields on from the inside....

Don't waste all that time and money on that poorly designed garbage. Just put Champions in, I did 20K ago and the truck runs perfect. Problem solved for ever quick and easy.
