New Laptop! Scan tool time...
So i picked up a mini notebook to be able to run that scan tool software on for my truck and now i cant remember what it is. I want to say it was auto something but im not positive. If you guys could help me out i would greatly appriciate it. And also, i dont know if anyone else is in the market for a mini laptop notebook thing but i only paid $50 for this one and its made by LG. I got it at Radioshack, only thing is is that it is an AT&T computer so you have to sign up for a 2 year agreement with the computer to get that price. If not it is $400 i think, but im going to use it for work too so I was able to kinda sorta able to justify it to myself lol, just enough to end up buying it i think haha.

I got mine here:
https://www.itpdiesel.com/store.php?search[terms]=autoenginuity&search[mode]=any&x=19&y=5
It was the cheapest I could find at the time.
Any changes they make is updatable though the internet.

well its about $380 for the ford bundle from AE. i havent looked at the other sites yet. and it seems as if you get everything that you would need; software, cord to go to OBDII port and a user guide. And i guess thats not to bad to have to pay something every year to get updates. Has anyone with this software used a Snap-on scanner to be able to compare the two?

Not much experience with the other scanners but
I think the AE is a little more powerful as far as recording on the fly, saving info and printing the results but it's not very portable. I bought the Pro-line version because i repair more than just Fords. I can't wait until they get the bugs all worked out on the wireless version. This will make the it easier in my case, there is always a computer running in the shop......no need to get the out the laptop and cables just to clear a code or other simple tasks. My older Auto X-ray hand held is slowly becoming obsolete for that stuff.

The little bit of use I've had with the snap on solous (very little) it can do more, but the $$$$ difference the AE is the way to go. Unless you are doing full all the time business with it.

Ya im going to be using this primarily for personnal use with the occasional side job that i get from time to time. So i was not looking to spend upwards of $10K for a scanner. I mainly wanted to know if it did the majority of the major thing that you can do with a solus. Thanks for the help guys.
