If your batt voltage falls lower than 11.8 it can cause an issue.

The GPR had power on the post the shunt attaches to, but the two posts on the bottom of the shunt did not have power. It was burned up from when I had both banks of glow plugs hooked on one side of the shunt, since the CEL was not on when I would put both banks on one side of the shunt.

That will burn it.
The shunt gets ripping hot wired split.

I was amazed how long it lasted honestly... about three weeks or more... So if I dont get the PCM reflashed, I may just make one out of copper, I already smashed the tubing so I might as well...

Just split the gp's on the shunt as per oem.
Then just move 1 pcm sensing wire to the other side.
This will buy you time and not have to see the cel.

I got a new GPR Shunt on there. I took the small gauge wire from bank 1 cut it off the connector, and put my own connector on it so it was separate of the actual power wire for the glow plugs and put it on the other side of the glow plug shunt, making it so that the computer thinks that they are getting the same amperage, but it wont burn up the shunt since the actual amperage pullers are on the two seperate sides of the shunt.

No CEL yet.

My guess would be you never drove one.
The cali's run real strong as compared to a 49 state.

yeah stock for stock the cali's prolly do run real strong. but i don't drive stock vehicles yet. haha. everything gets injectors. stage 1's in each make them equal. LoL. i just think i would get confused with a cali truck is all.

Stage 1 is not stock.
Compare apples to apples.
Its not just a power thing.
They are quiet and smooth as compared to each other.
If you compared 2- 1997 psd's (49 state/cali) the only
area the 49 state comes out a winner is in MPG.

My truck still gets decent fuel mileage...

No CEL yet... we will see how long it lasts, it should be all good now... I almost dont want to get rid of my truck because it has the AB injectors, but I want a crew cab or atleast an extended cab.

The truck is not that quite and smooth IMO, but I have never been in another 7.3 powerstroke.

HAHA. i was comparing apples to apples. LoL. i meant put stage 1's in each. i don't have anything against a cali truck though. they are good stock trucks compared to our 49 state trucks. the 49 state trucks are just dogs... LoL. hardly any power. guess im just to used to aftermarket parts to remember how good they run compared to stock 12v cummins. LoL.

Matt, glad you got it working good so far. hope it stays that way! you could always throw some stage 1's in the CC and be just as good when you think about the added weight of the CC.

Not true Matt. If I recall you drove my truck, which is a 49 state truck and an extended cab so you should have some idea about how smooth they ride. Now as for quiet mine is not a good example.

Hey... I forgot about that... And honestly I think both our trucks run about the same...

RRanch has a cali/auto and a 49 state/man.
While they are not the same year or trans, my
bet is he will take the cali over the 49 state any day of the week.

Maybe he will see this and have some input.
Its night and day between the 2.
