Lol, little big for White Tail and Mulies, don't ya think?

But, for Hunting, check out the Dept of Fish and Game website, Deer have "zones", IIRC there's about 10 different ones on Ca. for rifle hunting (PS, you can't hunt Deer with your 10/22...or any other rimfire cartridge).

Duck season is coming up soon, if not already here...again, check the DoFG ste.

Rim Fire...lile your .22 is...notice there is no exposed primer in the center of the cartridge?, also, once shot, lok at the bottom of the cartridge, you'll see the depression from the firing pin is neared the edge/rim of it.

Centerfire-just about all other cartridges.

But with a How, it's hard to not make a mess. At least you wouldnt have to gut it.

You have a good shotgun Joe?

Way back when I started huntig, my cousins (who were real big bruiser types) used to laugh at me shooing a 12 gauge, both of them shot double barrel 10 gauges, no recoil pads...they let me shoot thiers once....in fact I still feel the soreness when I think about it.

This reminds me of my grandfather teaching me to shoot a shotgun. It was an old, single shot, break action, Winchester 12 gauge. It was old when I was a young boy and had been firing nitro express shells for a very long time. The action rattled like it was ready to fall apart.

He said to hold it loosely with the stock about 1/4" off of my shoulder and when I was ready to fire, snap the trigger. I guess the good news is that I learned how to shoot a shotgun in one lesson. The bad news is that bad boy not only knocked me down, but it jumped up and down on me for awhile. My grandfather was not a nice man.

Lol Chet....you had a wicked family!

Joe,
u
You need to get a plug for that gun, yo can't have more than five rounds in a shotgun, nor carry a shotgu capable of carrying more than 5 rounds while hunting....if a Game Warden stops you and checks it out, you not oly get a fine, but lose the gun as well.

Actually, thinking about it, you can only carry three in the gun, and the plug needs to be inserted so you cannot carry more than three rounds.

It's just the law Joe, kinda like "why can we only drive 55 in this area", my assumption is for "gaming purposes", I/e it wouldn't be much of a sporting chance for the animals if you had a shotgun carrying 50 rounds, now would it?
