F1 Tow Truck

I spotted this F1 tow truck while on vacation last year. This would be an awesome project for someone with the time and budget!

I'd love to believe that I'll go back and "snag" it one day, but it'll never happen. It's a good four day's drive from me. If I remember correctly, that truck is in Hanksville, UT. It's on Hwy 24 headed west toward Cainesville. That part of Utah is dry-as-a-bone. It's no wonder that there's no rust.

I took that photo last year, so I can't promise it's still there. If any of you wind-up getting it, please keep us posted here at the forum. I'd love to see that truck restored, even if it's not me doing it.

Big bumper has protected that front . Looks like parts are slowly leaving . It would be my luck if I was to get close to it , sombody would step out of the bushes with a shot gun and ask what was I doing there . L.O.L.

Paging Josh. Josh Madsen, would please answer the white courtesy phone.

Not sure how far a drive it is for Josh, but he's in UT and should go on a hunt.

By the way, doesn't look like it's an F1. More like an F2-F6 judging by the fenders.

I found it on Google maps, dated 2009, sitting in front of Johnson's Market,
44 E 100
Hanksville, UT

BTW, it's got to be a F-4 to F-6, judging by the suspension.

That looks like an oilfield truck, not a tow truck. There used to be lots of those in the Four Corners area. Can any of you younger guys read the writing on the door (I can see the Hunt's, I'm not that bad!)
