Thought about this thread yesterday... you know you drive an Excursion when you get out the stepladder to scrape the snow off your windshield. Living in NC, I don't have much occasion to deal with snow. This weekend is the first time I've ever had snow since I bought my Ex a few years ago. Went out to scrape the snow off the windshield. Wasn't really thinking about it until I walked up to the side of the Ex, stopped, and realized I wasn't going to be able to reach much of it standing on the ground.

All of my windshield scrapers extennnnnnd! Always pull your wipers away from the windshield any time there is any chance that you may have to scrape your windshield. Those wipers are a long ways away! You can rip your wipers! PS. I have never seen the top of my Excursion!

You know you drive a V10 Excursion when you drive it instead of your PSD powered F250 because you forgot to treat the fuel, it's colder than a metal toilet seat in an outhouse on a cold, winter day, and your fuel has jelled.

Luckily I've never had my F250 gell on me, however the cold knocked the heck out of my batteries last week. Temp was in the single digits and I didn't get it in the garage. They just wouldn't spin the engine quick enough to fire it up.

I'm lucky too. I live in an area that never gets cold enough to need an additive.

Gelled fuel....does that go good with toast or a bagel?

Stewart

PS - Do you really have a V10 Ex and a PSD F250?

When you have to go to 6 different repair shops to find one with an alignment rack powerful enough to lift your Excursion!!!

2 firestone stores, (first one claimed lift broke when they tried to lift it) Discount tire, Sears, then 2 Pep boys stores. first store directed me to their main ....store a few miles away, in downtown LA that had a rack big enough to do the alignment..... 2nd Firestone store I actually stood next to the tech as he tried to raise the rack... it budged one side a bit and that was all she wrote...

Had that happen to me. Had a Civic rear end me and I my trailer hitch and 2" ball totaled it. Not a scratch on my X, but I had the hitch checked out to be safe.....

When your mechanic does not want to get under your Excursion while on the lift......it went up a lot slower than normal he said! I had my front sway bar end bushings/rods replaced while it was being state inspected today....eliminating that bumping sound at 73,000 miles. They were due. The best news....my rotors and brakes pads are like new! I've put on about 3,000 miles since I purchased my Ex. and I wasn't sure what we would find today. I knew the tires were new and they must have changed the rotors and brakes also. A great day for me and the Ex....how often can you say that?, Mike.

When traveling down the interstate, you pass a semi and he flashes his lights to help you over.
