Assuming you have a 1999 or newer Super Duty you do not have to remove the steering knuckle. Do you mean left front wheel bearing? If so the wheel bearing/hub assembly is bolted to the knuckle-the (4) nuts are on the backside of the knuckle.Should be 21MM or 13/16" I believe.Should not have to remove axle unless ball joints are being replaced.

I have a 2000 model. Noticed a wobble in the front end when I applied the brakes. Thought it was a warped rotor. After checking I noticed there was a lot of play(up and down, side to side) in the axle housing just inboard past the u-joint. After checking further I noticed that there was a lot of play in the knuckle both up and down, side to side and in and out. Is there a bearing in the knuckle or is it on the stub axle inside the knuckle or is there no bearing at all? I don't have a manual showing an exploded view of the housing or knuckle and I am going on gut instinct of where a bearing should be.
I was going on old memories of how axles used to be. Most had a bearing at the end of the housing, but after really studying this set-up I guess I cannot rely on old memories of times past. Thanks for your help Ford6.02005.
