I am sorry for such an easy question for most of you but this is my first F100 and my first project without the help of my old man so naturally I am lost. I just bought a 1967 F100 4x4 and I am looking to put new rims and tires on it. A guy has a F150 Ranger locally with 35x12.5 R15's on it with American Racing Baja's I believe that look good. I am considering this set-up and wondering what else I need to do this conversion. Do I need a new suspension/driveshaft/etc?

Also, any pictures you have of your ride height with sizes, brands, tips etc would be great.

A 4-inch suspension lift would be the way I would go.

 

Hi James, I too have one of these rare 4wd F-100s and have found that Superlift and Skyjacker both offer lift kits for our trucks. I haven't gotten to the suspension lift part yet, but have done my research.

James, welcome to FTE! I'm in the midst of doing my 67 restore. I'm going to go with the Skyjacker 3"lift on mine. I know for the 3" it's around $250, if I remember right. Basically, you'll have to change out the front springs (pretty easy) and install lift blocks in the rear end. May have to change the C-bushings on the front axle, to change the pinion angle of the front driveshaft.

I think a four inch kit will work for those. I'm in the process of doin a 10 on my 67. Will let you know what that clears in a about a week. Using 6 inch springs front w/ lowered mounts and radius arm drops, 7 degree c bushings.remounting rear spring perches with 6 inch springs in rear.

 

Have you guys seen BC Bronco's front radius arm kit and rear spring pivots? Not sure what kind of off-roading you are planning, but they will help your articulation a LOT!

 

I got a 68 f-100, it has 36-12.5-15 on it now with a 6inch lift kit and they clear no problem. Depends on what your doing, if its just for the road a 4inch could be fine for 35s but if you need some travel then a 6inch would be better. Problem with a 6inch is, you end up with 6inchs of blocks in the rear cause there aint any lift leaf springs to be had on the easy/cheap.
