Ok, been to Wal-Mart over the weekend and found a new synthetic oil in 5 Quart jug, priced at $12 ish. It has a Ford diesel Power stroke logo on it and it says approved by FoMoCo. Has anyone here tried this? I mean for less than $40 you can do a complete oil change!!!! That too synthetic, I unfortunately did not pay attention to the brand. It’s red 5 gallon jug though.

That is dino Motorcraft 15W-40, if it's what I'm thinking. I was thinking about running that stuff when they kept raising the price of syn Rotella. Then it came back down some (still ~$3 more than when I was first getting it! ).

Verify that for us, if you will. If Motorcraft came out with a syn diesel oil for our trucks, I'd give it a whirl.

 

Just got back from walmart. No syn oil, but they do have Motorcraft 15w-40, (like Joe just said). Ours still has Mobel diesel dyno for $6 a gal. There was also some syn blend for cars there for that price.

 

ok, I will stop by Wal Mart again sometime during the week.
