Hmmm that's a good way of putting it, my first car was a 85 f150 so that might be why I'm partial to those years

Personally I like the 80-86 grille. I don't like the 78/79 grille. I don't know why, its just not for me. 76/77 is the best.

I'm partial to 78-79's, they're inspired by Louisville truck grilles and you can tell, I like 76-77 grilles a lot too, but one just wouldn't look right on my truck...

Just from what I have seen growing up it seemed like everyone swapped the 78/79 grille into the older trucks. I was so used to this, that I thought I was one of the only people who liked the older grille more. After hanging out here for while I see there are lots of people that share my opinion.
I was thinking of seperating the 73-75 from the 76-77 for the poll but the only difference is the insert so I'm calling them the same. I'm not creating seperate options for the 78/79s with round vs square lights vs tube grill etc either. The options are 73-77 or 78-79 in any variation available to those years. So which do you prefer?

No question .... the best looking grille is the 76-77.
Next best looking is 73-75.
Third is of course, the 78-79 grille.

That's just how it is.

Sorry, but I DISLIKE the '78-79 grills quite a bit. The '77 grill is my absolute favorite. I voted accordingly. Since my truck is a '79, I documented what would need to be done in order to switch to an older style grill since I have converted mine to the '77 grill.

Classic and vintage are different eras. Some 80s are part of the classic era...

Maybe you are right, missoula montana seems to be trend setters and hipsters of the US, pardon me. I forget what it was like living in a small town as a youngster, feeling that the world was 100 square miles. Enjoy your night
