View Poll Results: 73-77 vs 78-79 grill. Which do you prefer.
I do like the 78-79 better myself. Very clean and masterful modernisation of the grille. Frequently a face lift doesn't work. This one does. Thoroughly perfect transition from the "old school" 77 and prior F series to the up coming generations.
Although I own both a 76 and a 79, I would have to say the 76/77 is the best, especially with the amber lights in the front, which I don't have(mine are clear). The black around the headlights sets off the front perfectly.
The chrome grille on the 79's is a close second--my other truck.
JBandit03, I'm seeing the stylin' classic look that you see with the '73-'77 and I like it, but I gotta' give points to the aggressive look of the '78-'79. Guys we can't go wrong here 'cause they all kick butt!! Yah Baby, Ow, Woo, Yah!!!
Every vehicle i own has round head lights, but my ford vans..wich by the way are dentsides aswell...they just look better with square. Otherwise Round headlights baby..could not see my 75 any other way.

It doesn't surprise me in the least, the 73-77 split grilles are a more classic old school design, elegant and aestethicly pleasing yet menacing looking at the same time, the 78-79 "egg crate" grilles were simply a precursor of the hideous grille design to come in the 80's.
