Need New G.P. ?????????????

I ohm'ed all my GP's and they ALL ohm'ed out at .6-.7 . This truck has 229k on the clock. The glow plug relay after testing appears to be bad. Should I replace all the GP's? Where do I buy the Stancor 586-902? I want to run a compression test since I bought this truck and don't know the history of its service before I buy all of these parts. I'm hoping all the compression #'s are within range. Where is everyone buying there compression testers??? This truck has a hard time starting and smokes white smoke when it does start. I've cleaned the fuel tank and done the fuel tank mods and rebuilt the fuel filter housing. This truck hasn't been driven in 3yrs. Soory for so many questions. But I have both VC's off and and want to do whats needed just one time.

When your truck has a hard start and smokes a little what's the temp outside? Do you plug it in overnight?

While you have VC's off, make sure you do the UCVH (under valve cover harness) mod. They like to wiggle themselves loose over time and it's an easy fix while you have them off anyway. Read this post especially number 6. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ml#post8136473

I'm not sure about compression testers but someone with more knowledge than me will come along and answer that one I'm sure.

As for the GP's, I'm not sure what the correct ohm reading should be but if they're within tolerance I'd leave them and just replace the GP relay IMHO.

Also re torque the Rocker Arm bolts, re torque the glow plugs, and, re torque the Injector hold down bolts while you're in there.

Also look at the picture below and check those wires that rub on the drivers side VC.

That's all I can think of for now.

I borrowed the compresion tester, but make shere you have the rite adapter withe the hose or you won't get it in there (the glow plug hole).

Injector hold down 120 in pounds

Glow plugs 124 in pounds

IIRC, the GPs should be 0.2 - 2.0 ohms. Yours are good to go. Mine were right around that range too, and I left them in there.
