Blowing belts on 7.3

Hi Guys:

Here I am with more dumb questions. I just replaced a fan belt on a 7.3 turbo ('94 F350) and after 150 miles it's shredded. It looks like a piece might be missing on a flange on the tension idler, I should have a pic and would post - maybe I will - also, something is wonky with the sizing as the first belt that blew off on me a month ago was a five rib off a gmc product. So that is what I replaced it with because a six rib is too wide for one of the flanges. Other than that there doesnt appear to be any flat spots on the idler wheel or elsewhere. Anyone have similar problems?

PLC7.3 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
While your there check all the idlers........for bearing noise.

Which flange, do you mean idler just below the tensioner. The dish spacers should face away from each other.......)(
