Wind Noise Around Doors

Wind Noise Around Doors
I just got a 1996 F150 Ext Cab, XLT. At first I thought I would just need new weatherstripping all around both doors but at second glance it actually seems as though the doors dont shut all the way. I can see daylight to the outside between the weatherstrip so I rolled down the windows and pulled slightly at the of the door frame and the door seems to bend a little. It closed the gap but there is still significant wind noise at highway speeds. Is there any other door adjustments? The weatherstrip appears to be in good condition all the way around. Is this a common problem? Looking forward to spending time on the new forum here.

Welcome to the forum.
There are several adjustments that can be made. The easiest one is the door latching post on the door jamb. It can be loosened and adjusted with a star or allen wrench. The door hinges or pins may need to replaced if the door sags but I haven't had to do that yet. Weather stripping can take a "set" after several years and might not be sealing as well as it did a dozen years ago even if it looks good.

I have had this happen on my 1989 F250. I found an post here, I think, about actually "bending" the window frame back in place by putting you knee on the inside of the door and pulling the top of the window frame in. It worked great. Just go slow and only move the frame small amounts and stop when it just seals. I know it sounds scary but it works.

I tried that a little bit ColdSwede. It seemed to work but wasnt sure how hard I should pull. The hinges have very slight play in the pins. I guess a combo of all these things make the problem worse. I was thinking the same thing about the weatherstripping rikard. I will play around with all these things. Thanks for the tips. Now on to bigger issues like the front end and camber adjustment. Might just need ball joints too. I will check that out shortly. Looking forward to diving into this truck and sharing some experiences here with everyone.
