suspension upgrades

I'm thinking the shocks need to be swapped out soon. Is there any good advice for an upgrade while I'm in there tinkering around. Dual Shocks, Coil over mod? Add a leaf?
It's a work truck, and I'm a mason, so I'm hauling regularly with it.

It feels like the front end is giving me a knock right now whenever the weigh shifts in the truck. Start to stop, or accelerate to decelerate, and of course bumps.

The most common source of noise in the front is brake pads that have lost the anti-rattle clips, but there are other possibilities too like warn ball joints. On leafspring front ends check the leaf eyelets for warn bushings, cracks in the mounts or frame(at the power steering box and under AC evaporator are common), or warn steering components.

Any idea what it costs to have the leaf eyelet bushings replaced? Is it something a shadetree mechanic can do?
