convert AOD transmission to C6 transmission in 4X4
Anyone have done before?
I don't trust AOD after heard several people who have and failed middle of highway or city which I don't want that happened to me when carry 6 people to Quarry in Ohio which is 50 miles away.
I heard that Aod and C6 are same length is that true?
Anything I should check before swap for C6? I could get good C6 under $150 but years could be early 80's so would it work with EFI 302?

Why I want C6.
it plow truck, tow trailers, drive in wood, and carry 5 or 7 passengers with stuff.
I don't drive fast on highway maybe 70 or less due to get good gas mpg.
Maybe I should give Aod 1 chance. what transmission pressure for AOD since preview owner remove tv cable off throttle body.

Exactly how are you going to set the pressure without a cable? The truck should not even move without this cable so obviously somethng has already been rigged up or you don't even have an AOD in the truck. If there is an OD off button on the dash or shift lever you do not have an AOD.

sorry
I mean we was plan hook tv cable back on but we was afraid if we adjust tv cable wrong and burn transmission.
PO convert electric transfer case to manual transfer case because it wasn't reliable due automatic failed.
It AOD it have pan which is smaller than C6.
I check tran code it E which supposed to be E40D.
it for 91 Bronco with 5.0L

If you truly do have an AOD it is not that difficult to set the TV pressure. Another less expensive option than swapping in a C6 is to replace the stock valve body with a constant pressure valve body from TCI: Constant Pressure Valve Bodies
It eliminates the need for the TV adjustment and the resultant failure if it is incorrect.

It cost $251 dollars vs C6 I could get for $100-150.
But let me think first.

switching 351 windsor from AOD to c6
I have a 1986 f150 4x4 with a 351 windsor and a c6 transmission it . The fluid looks brand new as if it were a new transmission and for this reason want to keep it. However, my truck needs a new motor and I have found one for it but it is in a 1988 conversion van and the van is two wheel drive with an AOD transmission . so I want to know if there are any issues converting it to fit in my truck . also the van is throttle body fuel injection while my truck is carberated and it has a serpentine belt system while mine has a v-belt system. I would like some tips and advice on if there are any issues converting any of this stuff to work on my truck .

Without details regarding AOD failure, I assume they die in their own heat waste so they really need their own radiator and electric fan. I would like hear some details though.
I really like my C6/NP208 but when on the highway, I wish I had an overdrive and torque converter clutch for my 85 F150. If I found a late 80's AOD in an F150, would I need to take the cross member and tranny mount? Would the AOD linkage work with my column shifter? What about the gear indicator on the dash, and the NP208 linkage on the tunnel? Do I have to modify the length of the driveshaft?
