maybe its just me but i find this hilarious. IMO there is absolutly nothing special or really much different about this truck besides the new DMAX engine, which i cant wait to see up against the new Powerstroke. Ford and yes, Dodge, or should i say RAM (to be politically correct) are strides ahead of GM right now in the truck market and continue to gain ground

I couldn't agree more. That's really not a whole lot of change from the current edition. I was expecting something big like a new motor (it had been rumored in the past that it might get a larger Duramax, but this is just new tuning to the same old engine), but just a slight change to the front bumper is nothing to get excited about. I hate to see our tax dollars going to waste!! Boring news!

I still agree with all, no good for me, but at least be aware of the correct truck we don't like!

I clicked on the link above, but I am afraid to report that the truck depicted is a 2010. If you go to the body of the news release and click on the 2011 link you will see a different truck with a different grille.

Still have to disagree. Go to this link whic is quoted in the article. The grille on the 2011's is different than what is shown for the 2010's. I am no CHEBBY expert, just quoting what I see. Click on this link. Then let me know.

no you are correct. thats why i made this link, bc chevy has been hiding a truck to compete with the other big 2. then this comes out. they chaged almost nothing but the headlights and the engine. and a little bit of a plastic front bumper

GM killed the Chevrolet brand in 2007 with the new "modern, fancy" look.
The new look to the GMC is good looking to me -- except the 2011 GMC in the link above with the plastic piece in the center at the top of the hood. That's ridiculous. In front of that plastic piece, it looks like General Motors dropped a long block and dented the hood. I know that's what it looks like stock, but the design looks like someone dropped a block on the hood. The "dual cowl" is garbage and it looks even worse on the Chevy's because it's deeper.
Whatever happened to the old school, nicer looking hoods that were straight (with no cowls) like in the 1990's?
For the 2011 Chevy's, I'd re-do the whole design of the truck.
For the 2011 GMC's, I would take that plastic piece off of the hood, make the center portion of the hood straight (from the right roof lamp to the left roof lamp), and put the "Vortec" or "Duramax, Allison Transmission" badge on that small slant at the top of the hood on both sides of the hood.
No more plastic!

Still not impressed either. That ifs setup is silly to have on a 1 ton truck. I worked on one of theses things (chev 3500 4x4) for a local fire company installing some lights for them, and they had a bumper with a winch on the front, the truck rode on the bump stops! The only travel it had left in the front end was the extra inch or so that the bump stops would compress when you hit some bumps!

This probably sounds biased, but I am not really that brand biased. But Ford really nailed it with the current F150. It looks modern, refined, and still tough. It's like nothing was compromised. I can't say the 2011 Super Duty looks as modern and fresh as the F-150. But hopefully Ford stays on top in all of those design elements when the all new models come out. - Because I have less hope for the others.

I can't say I'm not biased so much, but that's because between me and my wife, we're on our fourth chevrolet. I was washing her 2002 Malibu just yesterday and LIGHTLY bumped into the driver's side rear view mirror and the damn mirror just fell out! That's about the look on my face when it happened. The a/c is possessed, the "Oh!" handles were screwed in with plastic screws. Ask me how I found that out. I feel like I can do pull-ups on my boss's handles in his explorer. Sorry. Rant over.
