1988--starts then dies, then starts & runs great

My truck has always had the same cold startup pattern--it starts after 5~10 seconds of turning over and idles a bit high, maybe 1500 rpm or so. After 15~20 seconds of running, it dies unless I keep my foot on the throttle. After it dies, I hit the key and it starts right up and runs great forever. When warm, it just starts and runs.

Thoughts?

I'm watching this one cause mine does it also-it ain't the TPS-well wasn't on mine
I'm suspecting the temp sensor on the hose mount at the manifold-haven't had the time to change mine yet

Do you have a MAP sensor? pull the hose off of it and see if anything changes. That was the problem with mine.

What sort of changes should I expect to see if I pull the hose? Do I pull it and plug the hose, the sensor, or both?

thx

I have replaced everything but the tps and ecc. The new map sensor made things better, it just rums a little bit longer but still dies, but it restarts after I re prine the fuel pumps. 89 F150 4.9.
