Injecotr seals

Hi,
I am still a 6.9 (86 model, but has 87 glow plugs) newbie, and having some issues with leaking injectors.

I've been to Autozone, Oreilleys, Napa, and nobody has an injector seal kit, but they only have a "return line" kit, but no pictures of orings in the kits.

Yes, Viton, but where do you find them? What are the part numbers?

Thanks,
Glen

None of the kits I know of have viton seals in them, it's really unnecessary and someone on here commented they are stiffer and do not seal as readily as the regular Buna-N seals. I bought the 1/4" fuel line from Napa, and got the o-rings from Tractor supply. The o-rings are standard, so if you want to use viton, you can go to a industrial supply place like McMaster Carr online and order them. I will see if I can dig up the o-ring size. The ones I used from tractor supply were made for hydraulic fittings, but they are the same Buna-N material.

The standard o-ring is a #111. It's 7/16 ID x 5/8 OD, and is hanging back there with the hydraulic fittings. And I also found out I used 3/16 fuel line, not 1/4 inch.

My new o-rings were leaking less than a month after I installed a whole new return line kit. The viton rings are cheap so I ordered some. So far my truck is still leak free, even picked up some mpg since I'm not leaking fuel everywhere.

Injectors

I finally got with McMaster Carr and found the -111 Viton seals.

They should be here tomorrow (really fast service). I'll let you know.

THanks again,
Glen
