rear brakes dragging

Hello to all,

I have searched here before and found my answere, but this time not so much.

I Have a 2001 f250 supper duty 7.3. I have replace both rotors calipers pads and rubber hoses for the rear. And my rear brakes will still intermitantly began to drag. I now have the main brake line disconected at the rearend, and no fluid is dripping out. I have bleed brakes on many vehicals including this one using the gravity method and never have I seen no fluid dripping from a breeched brake system... Any thoughts

what about the slide pins are they all greased up... You can also have a piston seize up too in the caliper...

Layson probably has your answer about the brakes seizing up, but that doesn't answer the no brake fluid problem.
As for finding the fluid, I would get a second person and use the 2 guy system, one working the pedal, and one loosening the line or bleed screw. If that's not an option, then start loosening the brake line at the master cylinder and start your way back till you come to a place with no fluid. If all is working well, you should be able to open the bleed screws and open the reservoir and have all kinds of fluid running.

I put all these new parts in just a few days ago, and I don't want to cook them. I have learned of "brake pedal kickback". Aparently it is caused by contamination in the power steering system. Yes I was one of those who thought power steering used power steering fluid. Tomorrow I will be purging my pump with ATF. leaning towards ABS, but the front is not affected at all. So maybe MC...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your advice. I'm going to flush the pump tonight. Haven't figured out how to post photos yet. Not sure if I have to be a bonifide$ member.
