Reid Racing D60 BJ knuckles?
Hey guys. I have been trying to find a set of knuckles for my ball joint D60 axle. So far I have only found 2 options Solid Axle and Dynatrax. Read on Pirate where a guy couldn't use his solid knuckles with the stub shafts he had. So I contacted Reid Racing to see if they had any plans on making a knuckle for this axle. The sales manager said they had been thinking of making a knuckle but wanted to know which axle I had. Spindle/hub or Unit bearing. That leads me to think that the most popular axle of the two will get the knuckle made. So, my question is how many of you would run a Reid knuckle on your Ball joint axle. And what axle do you have( spindle/hub or Unit bearing)?

The only reason why you would have to use the aftermarket knuckle is because the factory one does not have provisions for a steering arm. Both Solid and Dynatrac have these provisions, but thats about all they offer.
King pin knuckles for fords are weak where the steering arm attaches, and these often break. A strength requirement has been met, but many using the ball joint axle have found that is becomes more expensive to use this axle, and this is why we dont see them as popular axles.
Unit bearing guys are using the late model 99 to current D60, and have lifts that require a crossover steering design and are forced to use these expensive knuckles.

I find that lots are picking up these axles much cheaper than the kingpins. Heck, I only paid $400 for the complete D60. I would like to high steer this axle. It has the chevy TRE's flipped on top but I'm not liking it very much. If I can get the steering any flatter then it is I think it would work out better allowing me to build a much flatter trac arm. It is a very tight fit with the driveshaft as it sits right now. If I build that arm like it is to match the steering link, I fear that it will pull the axle to far to the driver side. Have you heard of any other problems with the Solid knuckles? Do you think it is just the shafts the guy was running or all of them?
