I recently inherited my grandpas 91
F-150 4x4. I am thinking about swapping the TTB axle out for a SSA. I'm curious how much fab work has to be done. Or if I shld just out a lift on it and leave it the way it is. Any suggestions wld be helpful. Thank.

 

I did a solid front axle swap and a 6" lift on my f250 ... I bought a dana 60 high pinion solid axle out of an 83 f350 ... You have a TTB front axle in your truck now ... the axle that i put in my truck bolted to the leaf springs and the leaf springs to the shackles NO PROBLEM .. One thing you gotta make sure of though is that whatever solid axle you buy it needs to be the same gear ratio as your rear axle. Other than that there should be no fabrication.
