Ford Racing wires are my personal preference. I would highly suggest you seek out and find Motorcraft TPS and EVP. Many of the off brand parts just aren't worth it. NAPA auto parts store used to carry good aftermarket electronic parts. Not sure if they still do.

Going to go to the junk yard first and see if these clear up any codes for me. If it does I think I will then replace with motorcraft parts. Has anyone dealt with Rock Auto or any other online parts store. Rock Auto seems good on pricing. Here on Vancouver Island they want 93.69 for the EVP and 109.56 for the TPS. Those are not even motorcraft, they are priced from lordco and NAPA.

Rock Auto is A-1 in my book. I frequently order from them. They are also in the Vendor Directory. Send them a PM, maybe you can get a discount code.

Well that post was interesting confused me at first lol then I got it. I have an 89 5.8l do you know if mine is the adjustable one with the long screws or the easy one. I was hoping I did not have to take off the TB but it looks like I have to.

Even with the round holes you can still usually get a little play out of a TPS. I have elongated the holes with a small rat tail file to get my voltage below 1.00 VDC.

Ok is it possible to put these on without taking off the TB. Hopefully it will not need any adjustment, I hate messing with that type of crap. lol like I said I am just figuring out this electrical stuff. Do you know off hand what trucks had the adjustable ones and what ones don't. Thanks for that link again

I have been staring at my own 5.8L engine trying to see if the TPS could be easily changed. It does not look good. I know I can have the entire upper intake off in less than 15 minutes (been there and done that a few times already) so it is not really an issue. With a small angled-ratchet and a screw bit I know I can tighten/loosen the set screws to adjust the TPS if necessary, but I do not think it would be wise to replace it without at least removing the TB. Which models came with an adjustable TPS? no clue.

|Yeah got thinking last night and not removing the TB would most likely take longer and not go as well. like you said should only take a few minutes. So I take it I adjust the volts with the throttle body still not attached. Then reattached and recheck. Thanks for sticking with me.

I think I might just go to the junkyard and replace the whole TB conanski suggested that so I do not have to mess around with the set up. Do you know what year TB would fit or If the 5.0l TB is the same
