5.4 to v10 swap

Just swapped out a 2000 5.4 superduty f250 engine for a 2002 6.8 v10.Everything was pretty straight forward except for the belt pulleys. The belt from my 5.4 is too wide for the v10.I ordered an a/c delete pulley for the v10 engine and it has 7 ribs like the 5.4.Is there different size crank dampers and power steering pulleys etc.?Can i swap out the wider 7 rib pulley from my 5.4 alternator and crank damper or not?
Thanks for any advice.

You should be able to swap them ok, look for a part number on them.
Is it the same or different?

If it is the same you are good to go.

Did that V10 come out of a van?

There are two widths, I think 6 rib, and 8 rib. My V10 has the wider belt, and it's a 2001.

The '99's, I believe, have the 6-rib belt, in the F-series.

I wonder if the vans didn't.

The engine came out of a 2002 f250.A friend who works on these told me it shouldnt matter.I just used the 6 rib belt and fired it up.Everything appears to be good and the truck has a ton more power!I ran into a couple different kinks like the fan clutch being different than a 5.4 so i had to buy one from a junkyard.I also needed an intake kit so i just bought a volant instead of a stocker. The other thing i noticed is the alternator is a 2 wire on the v10 so since i had the 5.4 alternator/battery harness i had to use the 5.4 alternator but it bolted right in so no problem.Maybe a year thing instead of a 5.4/v10 thing i dont know.
Thanks for all the help guys!

Something doesn't make sense. From what I remember, the early '99's in the F-series had the 6-rib belt, while 2000-up definitely had the 8-rib belt.

But, I think the E-series has the 6-rib. Weird. Very weird.

I want to do this swap in my truck. How does the PCM work? Did you need the engine harness from v10 ?

I'm curious what all you did with the engine harness, body harness and PCM.

To make everything work, that is. Did you simply swap everything over from the donor truck?
