econoline vin

1961 thru 1980: Econoline VIN's begin with an E, not an F.
F is the designation for an F Series Truck.
The following decoded info is for an Econoline VAN, not a pickup. *
E14 = E100 Van (E10 = Pickup)
A = 240 1V I-6
H = Lorain OH Assembly Plant
832734 = 1966, assembled in March 1966
90" Wheelbase
M = Wimbledon White
E142 = E100 Van / 4930 lbs. GVWR (E102 = Pickup 4930 lbs. GVWR)
289: 2 = Medium Blue Crush Vinyl & Medium Blue Match Stick Vinyl // 89 = 89A Econoline Van
C = Ford Type 3.03 3 Speed Manual all Syncromesh Transmission
07 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.00-1 / Non Limited Slip / 3300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity
4930 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
129 net HP @ 4,000 RPM.
71 = Los Angeles (SoCal) Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the vehicle from.

* This info is for an Econoline VAN, not for a pickup. An Econoline pickup is body style 87.
Here's why this info is in-correct: The Warranty Plate is located on the left door face. People swapped left doors due to damage with used doors.
99% of the time, they did not install the original Warranty Plate on the replaced door.
If you compare the VIN on the registration with this VIN from the Warranty Plate, you will see that they will not match.

look at the back of your doghouse. If there is a hump the vin number will be there. If it doesn't have the hump you need to take the front of the dog house off and clean off the gunk and you should then see the vin on the floor. I had the same problem with my 65 Econo Van.
