f150s with 3" body lift pics needed!
Well i have my 18th birthday coming up this dec. 5th and ill be getting some $$$ from the parents to do a few upgrades on the truck. I desided im goin to go with a 3" body lift mostly because i dont have the $$$ atm to do what i want with a suspension lift and the next set of tires is going to be coming up soon and im goin with 33s. I will eventually do a 4" or 6" suspension lift but thats when i start back on my job. But anyways im looking for some f150s like mine with a 3 inch body lift to see what it will sit like. Its a 95 f150 4x4 extended cab. Thanks in advance for the pics!

Please do not consider a body lift. They are junk.
They require the bumpers to be relocated or they hang low. This weakens the mounting point.
They also require modification of the fan shroud and sometimes shifter linkage.
You also will end up with the gap between the bed and the cab and the frame hanging down low. Its just ugly.
A body lift also increases the center of gravity without having the suspension compensate for it.
Also after seeing the results of a truck with a body lift that got totalled the cab separated from the frame, I can't believe they are still allowed to be made.
There is a reason body lifts are cheap.
Sorry no offense intended Southern Blues.
On another note, I won't ever run overly large tires again. It messes up the gear ratio and drastically reduces performance and fuel economy and braking. The largest tire I would run is a 31 10.50 15.

with oversized tires you need to put new gears in your truck and also need to upgrade your brakes, if you don't you will end up with a truck that doesn't accelerate fast or stop fast
ps: stay away from a body lift they are crap if you get in an accident your body will seperate from the frame, if you want to run 33s on the cheap get a leveling kit and camber bushings and new shocks

Even with the gear ratio changed it doesn't really make up for the difference.
If a truck is not a daily driver it is not as big of an issue. I really have nothing against lifts and larger tires. Its just that I don't see the purpose of doing it just for looks. Also, I really just want people to stay away from body lifts.

Wow i knew they werent the best thing but i was told it wont weaken the stock componts like a suspension lift would... hence the reason i just thought of doing the body lift because i cant afford the suspension lift much less replacing stock components... But with that advice i am no longer going to do the body lift. The reason for larger tires is mostly the go muddin. The shocks are pretty new so when i go with the 6" suspension lift ill end up replacing those. It has the 5.8l 351 windsor so im not worried about the engine killing itself. I will defiantly need new gears which will happen once i start working again but im not worried i cant recall what is in it but i beleive its 3.55 gearing in the rear end. As far as raising the front up a inch or two would be the cheapest way to achieve that so i can fit the 33s which ill probably be using with the 6" suspension lift? I appreicate the advice guys! thank god i didnt order the body lift...

I have had a 3" body lift on my 92 ext cab for bout 8 years, 31" tire in the winter, 33" tires in the summer, never have had any trouble. I admit the front bumper is weaker after cuting the frame and raising the brackets, but is still strong. When I did the lift, I also added energy suspension bushing kit. The body lift makes the truck easy to work on too. Trans bolts have 3 more inches around them, just changed both exhaust manifolds, went through the gaps in the wheel wells, very easy. Ive instaled many of these and everyone is very happy. Not trying to knock anyone else on here, just been my experence. O yea, for the rear bumper, I put on a roll pan and it looks great.

i know a quick cheap way to lift you truck enough to clear 33s no prob. get some 2" tubing. some flat plate, and a foot of 3/4" threaded rod. take your springs off, the cup and take the bolt out that goes down through the top of the radius arm and cut a 6" piece of threaded rod and thread into the hole so about 1/4" sticks through the nut on the bottom side. put a nut on the top you your rod to so it will tighten up to the radius arm.take your 2 inch pipe and cut a piece an 1 1/2" long, , cut the plate into a cirlce the same size as your tubing, weld the plate on just the top. drill a hole in the center so that the 3/4 tubin will fit through it. then just slide it on and put the cup on top of it and then yourr spring. just do that on both sides. i dont know how many trucks ive lifted like that, cheap and it will clear 33s no prob. depending how sagged your front end is you might have to block up the back to get it to set level again
