Ok smartys ! i know what i typed in here in 2009 but i dont recall the "61 with holmes wrecker" that i had mentioned so i guess that makes me a candidate for early onset alzhiemers..
like i said we must have discussed the wrecker from another thread somewhere in that same time frame hence my referencing it in this thread??

I might know where another holmes is? Ill check into it. How long of wrecker bed are you looking for?

EDIT. ok, did some googling to find out what the heck I was talking about! here is the reference thread to the Holmes.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...s-wrecker.html

Im surprised that the add is still half up there, call the phone number and see if he still has it. it was a truck somewhat local to me, I should have bought it! oh well, that was back when my addiction for old trucks was somewhat under control!

Now about that early onset Alzhiemers, what s the treatment plan? I can't rely on Google to save me every time I forget something. lol the alzhiemers probably wont be the real problem I face it will likely be the early onset dementia....

Ok, well I just called the fellow and he's is going to have his son get pictures of it to email me. the truck is complete just the way he got it from the dealer supposedly. now that my memory is coming back to me it was a neat looking truck probably be a shame to separate the bed from the chassis??? he says its a 1960 F-550 and wasn't $700 but $1800

I have another person to call and see if he has a holmes? I recall seeing it and not being attached to any truck if I remember right and it was in Wyoming so somewhat closer to Canada

Wrecker

Wow, sure sorry to have stirred up so many gray cell's, usually I am killing them, more fun. Closer to the border is good, I went all the way from home to Birchdale MN for the COE, 2000K one way. But half the fun is getting them home. Thanks for the help.

no worry's it felt good to remember something from 4 years ago.
I've been as far north as Alberta and into Banff but looks like your a little bit farther north. Pretty country up there.
at least Utah is just a hop skip and a jump from you...

I'll post up some pictures as soon as I hear back from the fellow.

Grey Cell's

Great, next time your this way look me up, not too far from kansas. Ha. I am about 80 miles North West of Edmonton. We call it the Great White North. It's great in the summer and great in the winter if you know what I Mean.
Can't wait to start on the project, would you recommend I keep the original chassis if I find a wrecker for it or go ahead with the first idea of putting the cab on a one ton dually??

PS we can kill a few more grey cell's while your up here, Canadian Beer!!!
