I've also got the 2115 Ti, and the 2135 Ti as my everyday use guns. I've got an MG325 and MG725 for the stuff that just won't move.

I have my second CP 734 that I bought reconditioned. The first one lasted thirty years being used professionally and always had plenty of torque. I just put my studded tires on yesterday and it is a pleasure to use. Great power to weight ratio.
That is Chicago Pneumatic = CP

Yeah, many older tools were U.S.-built with quality & longevity in mind.

Beginning in the 1980s, though, many US-based manufacturing plants were shut
down and operations were moved to China....

That's right. Which is why I bought the reconditioned CP734. I got it from a shop which did the work, someone sent it in and then never reclaimed it. They sold it for the repair bill + s/h. You can find them, ebay, pawn shops etc.

I have owned 2 of these, both CP 734H and man compared to the IR 2135Ti it is a toy. It was my first gun. One time I was using it to remove a frame bolt and it wouldn't budge it. The old timer next to me said "here try mine" it was a Mac (a rebadged IR 231) that was 17 years old, that zipped it right off. Shortly there after I bought the IR that I'm still using. The CP 734H sits in the home garage for occasions I need to remove a couple wheels. That thing weighs like an extra pound and gives 1/2 the performance.

No I had one before but it got stolen and it wasn't nothing special. If you ever used a 2135 you'd understand what I'm saying. Now I have seen a CP 7750 in a demonstration and it was very impressive.

The OP was asking about a middle of the road gun, not the most powerful. I am aware that there are a few guns out there that can twist off your wheel studs if you are not careful.

yeah I'll stand by my recommendation of a IR 231. Maybe I should have asked how much he wanted to spend.

There is such a variety of guns out there, you could have a monthlong debate and never mention them all. Most people don't need 1500ft/lbs, but it can be fun to have an impact that will remove lugs (and studs) before you realize they are reverse threads.

I will only buy IR impacts for now on. I currently have the 1/2 ti and have used the 3/8 model. The 3/8 one is equal to my snap-on mg 31, but a little better for tighter places. I used to make the other guys in the shop made when they were strugling with a rusted bolt, and I'd walk over there and zip it off with my IR ti. Air hose size is also important. the larger the better. Try using a 1" impact with a 1/4" air hose, it's just useless.

I know Kobalt makes one for 75 bucks and it works nicely on wheel lug nut removal for small and big trucks and cars. rated up to 550 ft lbs of torque. but I still waiting for a chance to get a good IR gun though.

I just bought the harbor freight electric 1/2" 250ft lb one without any expectations since it was only 32bucks with coupon.
It removed my F250 lug nuts by itself! My yellow 1/2" air impact would not do that and I always had to break em loose by hand first.
Not a middle of the road impact, more of el cheapo, but for just rotating tires, it already paid for itself in not having to pay someone to rotate em.
Also don't have to drag an air hose around.

Best gun on the market & quietest gun also is:

AirCat Air Impact Wrench — 1/2in. Drive, 6.4 CFM, Model# 1404BG | 1/2in. Drive | Northern Tool + Equipment

We had this discussion on another site & it was the clear winner. My CP is still going strong I want the Aircat for the quiet operation. I have a 29 cfm compressor set @ 145

The IR & CP are loud as hell, compared to the Aircat.
