Baby needs new sneakers

Okay folks, I just finished checking the air in the front tire of the truck becasue they seemed a little soft, which they were. I have been aware that I was going to need to replace the tires sometime in the future and I was planning on doing it in the spring. Well needless to say my right front has other plans and I noticed that a few of the lug on the outside row of the tire are worn down to the point that there is no seperation between the lugs in a few places around the tire.

Stopped at my local shop and got some pricing and holy CRAP have tire gone up since I bought these 4 years ago. What ran me $135 before will now cost $197 So I am asking to see what you guys, family, friends, Fido are running that they like and are having good luck with.

Current sneakers are Cooper Discoverer ATR's in a LT265/75R16 and they are 6 ply tires & are 50k mile tires. I am looking for a similar or more agressive tire due to the possibility of being on the roads at any time for an emergency.

Neil,
I am getting new tires also..

The prices are going up according to this article.

I settled on the General Grabber AT2's for $235 per tire complete...

My son has them on his girlfriends Jeep and like them..

Tire rack has them in your size for $115 each

They are ranked pretty high on tire racks chart..

Wow, those are pricey! What I usually do is call 5 or 6 places and play them off against each other. When I put tires on the wifes Expedition last may, I bought Goodyears, and go them down from $170 to $120 a tire. Worth a shot!

The shop that I normally use was recommending some tires made by Nokian (I believe) From what he stated, they are a Swedish company and from what he stated they rank right in line with some Firestone and Bridgestones. I can get those for $159 each out the door and they are 50K mile tires and are 6 ply.
