Excellent write up William!
Believe it or not, I am still a little confused about this detent thing.
However, I am sure that once I have the parts in my hand, it will become clear.

The Detent is the spring pack kit.
The part that I was exclaiming NOT to remove it how the other guy was talking about.

You have to press or hammer that part out with a bar.

I didn't take pictures of it, cause i fussed with it for 30+ minutes till i figured out what I was supposed to be doing.

I missed a picture though, that reminds me. i'll throw it in.

I'm going to have to learn to shift all over again.

I was hoping the ball cup would be tighter. but its not. Still that sloppy play between the 2. =\
Must be a bushing or something that goes in there.

Lets put it this way. It reminds me of driving an S10.
I went to first. and i was like. No way. Went to reverse.
Grind.
****. poped it out, slapped it in again.
Grind.
Damit.
Slapped it in harder a third time and it shot it in.
That little bit of slop in the cup makes reverse hard for my truck.

I didn't even drink much, and I have spark knock today. No idea what the deal is. And no idea why my Spark plugs are missfiring, I dont have any!

I think you should go lie down for awhile until the knock goes away.

I had spark knock today also.
Probably because somebody kept me on the phone for over an hour last night and made me drink...?
