Radio for 1956

Hello,

I have a 1956 F100 and live in Germany.
The radio of the truck is missing. Here in Germany there is no chance to get one. Is it difficult to get a working original one in the US?
Are there conversions to modernize the radio available, so that it still looks original but with modern technique?

greetings from Germany,

Guenter

The ebay radio is NOT correct for a 56. Yes the one listed is 6 volt, but the 56 dial face is also different. The one listed has a wavy face edge where as the 56 has an edge that has small triangles all the way around the edge. The ebay radio is also MISSING the chrome bezel for the dash- getting hard to find, also does not include the overhead speaker housing also getting VERY HTF!

I have 3 or 4 complete 56 radios. I have been buying and selling them for years all the while upgrading my stock. All of the ones I have do not work but have the nicest bezels, speaker grills, and have the indicator needle that is usually missing as well.

I'm not in the market to sell anymore as I needed 3 for current trucks. but if you find you can not find one else where PM me and we can talk.

1956 Ford F100 Radio

I am curious if you have any radios for the Ford F100 1956. If not do you know where I might be able to find one?
Thanks
Joe

1956 truck radio is not the same as 1953/55, neither is the antenna.

1956: 12V negative ground / 1955 and earlier: 6V positive ground.

Most ebay sellers haven't a single clue what parts fit, including NOS parts w/Ford part numbers marked on the packages.

56 Ford Truck radio - Nubie

Have a 56 radio. Unfortunately it does not have the ***** which are also hard to obtain. Pictures display a complete one and mine without the *****.

These cores are used to convert them to FM w/ USB and included is the video for the converted 53-55 one.

Feel free to respond. Am a nubie and would like to introduce myself as Bill N and am not allowed to post a thread yet. Do not want to break any rules. Need to respond to threads before being able to post.

Here is a video of my restoration on a 53 54 55 radio 12 volt

Anyway will try to post the pics:

Thanks

Bill N

I also have a radio for the 56 has speaker mounted on the front headline liner. Mine was in working condition until recently, I now can not change the channel stuck on static. I,ve been told there is a thin wire that tend to break after time that controls that function, but not sure. Any tips on fixing that or anyone that rebuilds them?

thanks

I'd be interested in purchasing an original speaker box too.
