i can figure out my boost!

my truck is a 97 f250. its intercooled with a dpp chip. i just added a .84 turbo housing and 3 inch downpipe to my 4 inch turbo back stacks. also have the beans tymar intake. sounds wicked going down the road but my digital turbo gage is running neg 2 psi at idle and all it will read is 8 psi redlining the old girl. dont forget i have stage II sticks so i know i should be getting more boost. its sounds like a lot more boost buil maybe my gauge when out. i dont know why because it worked good with my 1.00 housing. could push 25 psi. any ideas?

I never heard of the .84 but when you hit 25psi did you have your IC in? I'm just thinking that you have a leak somewhere in your tubing. Just a guess. You have some great mods, I've been thinking about that D66, how do you like it over the stock one?

it takes care of the turbo surge ok but to me it seemed about the same performace of the ar 1.00 housing so i sold it. just forgot to take it of my sig lol. thanks for pointing that out. its been a bit since ive been on here. a lot of changes! but i dont think i have any leaks because it has a lotttttttttttt.... more power. plus thats the first thing i checked. maybe i blew out the boost sensor? i dont know what its rated at but i dont think it pushed over 30 psi into it. its been bafelling me for the past week now.

Maybe the tube for the boost sensor got pinched or clogged?

.84 housing, wow! I heard of guys having overheating issues with the 1.0 housing on our trucks

what made you want to go with the .84 housing?

good call. i think ill replace it today and see if its that tube is clogged. i went with the .84 for more boost. im not worried about overheating as much because im intercooled and even with my 1.00 i never had a problem

Where did you install the sensor? in the spider or the map line?

Not much help on the boost other than you probably have a leak somewhere or the gauge got messed up. BUT IMO the .84 housing is way too small for stage 2's. I also believe the 1.0 is too small for stage 2's. I ran the 1.0 for a while with just AD's which are about 140 cc's and I noticed no change in performance going back to the stock housing but I did run cooler even with an intercooler.

you didnt notice faster spool up? now i didnt notice any difference between the 1.00 and the d66. but the .84 sounds like a 6.0 and u can tell the boost is there off the line. anyway i put my 1.00 housing back on and im pushing right numbers. glad i throught the head stud kit on!

weird, i would confirm your digital gauge readings with a manual gauge. i think you will find your numbers are ALOT higher then what you think.
