Heater problems

I have an 1986 Ford F150 4x4 with A/C and I have a problem with the heater/air conditioner selector lever. All I have are my vents, no defrosters or floor vents. Could there be a problem with the blend door? I know the system is vacuum controlled.

There is a problem door that breaks at the hinges all the time, but I am just going by my memory from reading posts over the years. Someone else will come along hopefully and know more.

And from what I understand it's too fun to replace either.

Watching this thread as my truck has the same problem...

What's the easiest way to get to the blend door?
