94 f150 bought a new/rebuilt engine

bought a new/rebuilt engine for my truck from a local engine rebuilding place where i live and the engine they gave me has a diffrent firing order than my orig engine and i want to know if i have to change any thing to make this engine run correctly change any thing like the ecm both engines are 302 roller engines and supposedly i have the lightning cam in this engine they sold me i took the orig firing order in with me when i went to get the engine so i still have no idea how this got messed up and both engines are roller enginse i had to put the intake and stuff on the new engine so i am sure it is roller

my origional engine firing order was1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

new engine firing order is1-5--4-2-6-3-7-8

Is your truck mass air? If so and you actually do have a cam in there with the old 5.0 firing order then you have a problem. In this case you have 2 choices, move 4 injector wires so it idles smoothly and live with the motor.. which will be weak compared to what you had, or change the cam to one with the correct firing order.
As far as I know there is only 1 Ford roller cam with the old 5.0 firing order, it was used in the late 80's cars and '92-93 trucks and is quite a bit smaller than the F4TE cam that you had originally. The 5.8 truck motor always used the 13726548 sequence and didn't get a roller cam until 1994.. which was the F4TE cam, and it was definitely not used in the Lightning 5.8 because that motor got a flat tappet cam.

Wires for injectors 3&5 and 7&4 have to be swapped.

You have the plugs wired for the same firing order too right?
