NEED HELP! Somebody with a short bed and a tape measure PLEASE!

I'm about to chop my longbed and thought I had the right #'s. I was going to cut 12" to make it a shortbed then heard the # was more like 17" So while at a customers house I threw a tape inside his short bed and from the bulk head rearward to the end of the floor it measured 82" my long bed measures 98 and 3/8 exactly! HEEEEELP! Somebody please give me some back-up here did I measure the other bed right? Is it really 82" or was there a fraction at the end?

I have a 74 and I measured 82 and 1/16. Can someone tell me where the back up light sensor is on a 74 F100 w automatic, is it on the column, or tranny, I dont see anything on the tranny. Thanks, Grady

There is no such thing as a backup lamp sensor.

With A/T, the backup lamps are controlled by the Neutral Safety Switch (NSS).

1961/77: The NSS is located towards the bottom of the steering column / 1978 and later, it's on the transmission.

C7TZ7A247A .. NSS (Motorcraft SW600) / Obsolete

Fits: 1965/66 F100/250 // 1967/77 F100/350.
