zf parking assembly problem

I have a 92 f-superduty with a 7.3 diesel engine. My Parking and emergency brake system tore up. I can't find one or get it rebuilt. They are obsolete and unrebuildable. I know there has to be solution. Truck is 2 wheel drive. Anyone out there know how to modify the truck?

LMC truck parts should have everything you need. Here's a direct link to the page showing the parking brake system for your truck:

Thanks for the reply, but that isn't what I need. I need the zf parking brake assembly for the tail shaft.

Is that obsolete with Ford......... try aftermarket heavy truck parts suppliers.

May be a bit extreme but they may be able to advise you.

There are two listed on ebay right now, but at ~$650... they ain't cheap

I have one out in the garage I don't need. I got it along with a spare engine when I was looking for a 4wd tranny (the rear cover is the same for 4wd and 2wd with parking brake). I just took a look at it, and it seems to be in good shape. Only problem is either the real seal on the tranny, or the seal in the parking brake looks to have leaked. The brake shoes looked to have gotten a fair amount of oil on them. I'm not totally sure what vehicle it came out of, but pretty sure it was a tow truck.

Let me know if you'd be interested. It might be possible to clean up or reline the brake shoes.

We had that system on a 22,500 lb forklift, and when it leaked oil on the parking brake shoes, I took them and played a torch over the shoes to burn the oil out of them. It worked pretty good.

I shot you an email yesterday with some pics, let me know if you have any problems opening it, was about 4 megs, so might be a slow download.
