I just posted a few links to how too's on this subject, they might be a few pages back by now but their there. You can pull a spring or 2 and get a small amount of drop in the front and rear the problem being you are going to feel the ride difference and you shocks are no longer going to be working at there best if at all. I believe that the spring removal is covered in one of the links I had but if not it is covered in a article written for this site that should be in the article/spec section or maybe found with a search in this section. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

lowering a 58f100

58

I lowered my 58F100 with the aftermarket non-reversed eye mono springs and its a little lower--I'm not sure exactly how much lower. I was changing a lot of things during the build and don't know what the before height was exactly. But I also tried a set of reversed eye mono springs and it was better looking-to me--lower like I wanted but with a big block motor and a C6 tranny that's a lot of weight. And sure enough even with drastically trimmed front snubbers there was little or no suspension travel left. Not good. Or only good for parking lot cruising. I needed more than that. Not a work truck, but a hot rod that still needs some driveability.
And no suspension travel-to me-means no suspension.

So I sold those to a young guy that just wanted to do some easy crusin--I understand that and he'll be happy as long as he goes slow/careful etc.

I've heard mixed reviews from people who use the mono springs, and for sure its more money that just removing spring leafs--I've done that in the front of another of my trucks and I've been using it for 12 years no problem. So whatever. Its just another option. And its working good for me.

Good luck Tom
