How to check temp ending unit 95 F150 4.9

95 F-150 4.9 5spd 2wd.

How would I check the temp sending unit?

Can you just ground a terminal?

Is there an ohm check?

Thanks for any replies, Matt.

Unplug it and ground it out, see if the gauge pins itself.
