Tranny replace

I have a 94 F150 5.0L with a 5 speed manual transmission. I would like to install an automatic. Any advice would be appreciated.

Okay, I'll go first...I advise you not to do it. For many reasons.

But seriously, may I ask why you want to do this? I only ask because, more often than not, members here have sought advice on swapping to a manual, from an automatic. IMO, with the possible exception of the C-6, the automatics are far less durable than the sticks (even your M50D) not to mention getting worse mileage, and robbing your already underwhelming (if in stock tune) 302 of needed power.

Perhaps there's another (easier) solution to your problem?

Oh--almost forgot: And welcome to the Forum! (Don't worry--most people aren't as snarky as I can be. )

Thanks for the reply. I am ashamed to say the reason I wanted to change was that I have gotten lazy. I have a 35 mile commute each way daily in stop and go. I think however you have talked me out of it. I thought about the linkage and the rear end also the instrument panel with a shift indicator. What was I thinking.
Thanks Again
Danny
