I have a friend that lost a 97 F350 that way.
There is a switch in the master cylinder that has battery power at all times.
If the switch fails, which can happen when no one is around and the vehicle is not running, a fire is the result.
I know of two vehicles lost that way close to me, one being my friends, and the other was an E series that took the house with it as well since it was parked in the basement garage.
What I can't figure out is why they have battery power running to that switch at all times.
Cruise control surely don't need power when the engine is not running.
Only vehicles with cruise control have that switch.

Look at your master cylinder, there ia a pressure switch on the side with two wires on it.
One has battery voltage constantly, can't remember but I think it may be yellow.
Unplug that wire till you get to the dealer.
Your cruise won't work, but your truck won't burn either.

they just place a short wire with a fuse that will blow in the very, very rare event that the switch leaks brake fluid internally and or happens to run down on the abs block down below, and then that has to be hot enough at the time to make the brake fluid start to smoke.then it has to be good and hot to actually lite her up in flames.
but, hey.it happens or they wouldn't recall 'em right?
anyway.you can take it in,and they will put a little fuse so it pops and stops the current in an event of a brake fluid leak from that switch.
or,you can do it yourself if you rather, but there's no cost.(well,of course nothings free,or ford would be out of business too lol.they have to make up for lost revenue on recalls somewhere.i think i'l just test for the hot wire, and put a fuse in myself.)
disregard the old deadline date from this one:
