Man that thing is sex. It's totally worth every penny it's going to fetch. If I had that kind of funding right now, I'd do it in a heart beat. It's a low mileage perfect condition southern Excursion. That means no rust, minimal wear and tear, and minimal maintenance due. The owner of that truck took care of it in every way he should have.

It depends on where you live I suppose? We have a 2005 Limited 6.0L diesel with 62,XXX miles on it in my city. The asking price is $29,995. I am sure they don't even anticipate getting that much for it. Because when I bought my Excursion from the same people several years ago, I was able to negotiate my best price down to about 65% of their "asking price".
If I didn't want the dealership calling me every day and pestering me to death, I would pretend to be a potential buyer just to see how low I could get them. I suspect I could get them down in the range of $22,000 to $23,000 easily. Especially after seeing the OASIS report on the vehicle. I have a gut feeling it's been in the repair shop pretty often.
When you see an auction where the repetitive bidders have feedbacks of 1, 4 and 15, you can almost bet there's a lot of shilling involved. Especially on a high ticket item. Some dealerships will use several user names to bid a vehicle up so as to make it appear it's worth that much in the current market.
More likely than not, you will see the same vehicle relisted a month from now with the excuse that high bidder couldn't arrange financing. I've seen it thousands of times on eBaY lately.

That was my thought as well. I've also noticed that the '05s seem to have *much* higher asking prices than the earlier models. Lot of extra coin being asked for what is essentially a minimal bolt-on update between the 04 and earlier models and the 05s.
And don't get me started on the "diesel premium" - I've seen similar trucks with a $10K difference in price V10 to 6.0 - that's just crazy, IMHO

Another thread was talking about possible resale values which made me curious enough to check the supposed resale value of my '05 V10 4WD EB with 59K miles. I was surprised when KBB and NADA both listed its worth as being over $20K for a private sale. Those numbers are based on average sale prices (reported prices), and not on asking prices.

That's the point, more or less. Only an idiot is going to pay a dealership $8,000 to $9,000 more than the "private party sale". And dealerships know this. They start HIGH on their prices. And how low you get them to go on the final price is all about how good you are at letting them know you can live with or without their vehicle.
You can no longer place much faith in what you see on eBaY. I've seen way too many cars and trucks relisted after they supposedly sold to the highest bidder. As I said above, the excuse is always "a deadeat bidder" or "buyer couldn't get financing, so I am relisting this fine Excursion, bid early, bid often!".
I think someone got screwed on that deal! it`s not as clean as it looks. the left tailight and door and the area between the lens and rear door have some damage. the console is well used also. and it needs tires. not worth $31k if you ask me! love that color though!

I don't care how high the prices go. We are keeping ours. This truck fits my family of 4 kids and two dogs and a wife (of course) Screw minivans, if you load them up with people then there is no room for luggage or dogs. We love our 05 Ex, we had and 00 before and it was good too.
I wish they would make something this size again. I wish I still had my 1971 Pontiac Grand Safari Station wagon with seating for 12 ( rear facing seat in the very back) !! largest station wagon ever made!
Have you ever been harrassed by some prius (or similar driver) "why do you need such a large vehicle?" I have. I calmly explain to them the advantages, including the results of an accident if they hit an excursion or other large vehicle.
Just my .02
There is a sucker born every day and good exposure makes them appear.
