have you heard of anyone putting smokestacks on a 2004 5.4l?

i guess you could....it is a diesel thing tho.

why have smoke stacks if you dont make smoke?

There are a few frenchmen here in Northern Ontario that love that sort of thing. It usually followed by 4" rusty "el cheapo" dual exhaust tips, a Ford Motorsport (or something equally as tacky) windshield banner, Playboy or Yosemite Sam mud flaps and as many flood lamps and marker lights that the front bumper and grill will hold.

Don't do it, it looks foolish!

Stacks were cool 15 years ago. Now, not so much, even on a diesel.
