hello, got new truck, doing some easy cheap effective mods, doing the ccv have all the orings and hose but trying to figure out what the best oil trap is for the gases, ive read about tapping it into the exhaust i dont want oil dripping form my tail pipe so i want to make a trap? anyone have some suggestions. thanx
Funny, I have two on my workbench for people that have requested them. Andrew (86 F150-I6) has dibs on one. I build them by request. I guess I do need to make a stronger marketing effort.

Actually, I think they are already marketing a similar one under the name "Stealth CCV". I built one like it a few years ago, but it still allows some oil to pass through. I have mine rerouted back to the air intake adaptor. I have the materials to build another and am going to revise it to see if it will help.
I dont have a catch the hose just ends under my truck. Not one drop of oil in my garage. And no bad smell, I run rotella synthetic. From the research I did on this forum guys say the amount of crankcase pressure is minimal at idle and what little drops of oil that collect happen at road speed. Something like that. But so far I dont have a drop and if I did I would put a can in right away. Time will tell.

Well, I can atest, after rolling down the highway and go to park it, it drips occasionally and my hose is straight down, looking to the trap contraption soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's something out there. I took this idea from member from another forum so it's not my idea as well. I built for folks who don't have the time or a nearby Home Depot to get the stuff plus I have all the dimensions etc to whip them out pretty quick and ship.

Guess im lucky. Driveway and garage spotless. Ill go untill I notice anything. Then put a can on if I need to.I do have the hose going over master cylinder so maybe the small uphill climb helps keep some in?

The BD Crank Case Vent kit is more money that your basic do-it-yourself kit but you really get what you pay for. The kits looks like it was installed at the factory and does not vent to atmosphere.
