Need info on tranny question

I just got a 514 BB Ford and a C-6 Tranny and I'm wanting to put it in My 86 F-150 its got a 351 windsor and a 4-speed tranny and I was wondering if the C-6 would bolt to the stock transfer case the c-6 came out of a station wagon but the tail piece can be taken off and with that off its 21 inches long.

No. A 2wd tranny will not bolt to a transfer case. The output shaft is too long. To make it work you have to get the correct pieces for the rear of the tranny, and then take the tranny completely apart to install these pieces and convert it over to a 4x4 tranny.

Here's a place in North Carolina that has the tranny you need for sale.
