Need Help / Waste Gate Question

I was checking for a boost leak and while in there, I wanted to make sure the waste gate "rod" wasnt loose. It was very tight and the only direction I could get it to move was toward the passenger side about 1/4 inch or so. it was very tight.

Is this correct? or is something wrong?

Yep, that sounds good. You don't want to be able to move it much at all, so yours sounds perfect.

Sounds about right to me too.

When you can easily move it, you've got a problem. Mine broke, and when I took it off the rod was flopping around. I guess the spring inside of the actuator snapped. There was zero tension on the rod, and the wastegate was free to fly open any time it wished.
