Is the rear axle housing on a 2000 exp strong enough be used as a location to put my floor jack when jacking up my exp? Many times when I have done work that require the removal of the rear wheels I have wished that I didn't have to raise the frame of the truck high enough to get the tires off the ground. My driveway is on a slant so raising my Exp as little as possibe when doing a rear brake job would be an advantage. If I could jack it up using the axle there would be little elevation change to the body of the truck.

Isnt the axle tube the factory jacking point? I use the axle or the bolt boss area of the control arm. It is MUCH safer to lift the axle to remove a wheel than jacking the body up. This is definately the way it should be done. The axle tube is plenty strong enough for this.
