1967 F100 Ranger Truck box - w/ chrome

Is this a good deal? I was thinking the chrome might be worth that much. Help me out here. Doesnt seem to have much of any Rust and no dents.

1967 F100 Ranger - Box w/ all chrome

Or am I crazy is the chrome not worth much of anything ... as well as the box.. message back your thoughts.

There are two different widths of the upper mouldings.

All 1967's, 1968's before serial number C56,001 have 1 1/4" wide side mouldings.

1968's from serial number C56,001, 1969's have 1 1/2" wide side mouldings.

1970/72 Custom's and Sport Custom's also have these same 1 1/2" wide mouldings.

ALL these mouldings are obsolete, hard to find. The tailgate is the same 1967/72, it's also obsolete and is hard to find.

For $200.00 bucks, it's a super deal...as long as it's not rusty. The tailgate alone is worth the price of admission...especially if it has the mouldings.

Quit posting questions, the bed is worth $200.00 for dent free and near rust free. Of course you can buy a whole truck for that too sometimes.

"Quit posting Questions" jees I thought that was the point of this internet site. LIke the numbers guy said they are odd to find... so they are also hard to price out... thats why I asked for help. If anyone has seen any recent sales and can help let me know

chiming in...

So not sure 'bout jowilkers' complaint, but I think it's a valid question. I'm about to spend somewhere between $800 and $1200 Canadian to bring in a California box to replace mine. It's kind of a wet dream up here to find a good box for that price ($200). "My" dream is to find a rust-free Mercury tailgate (I guess I can dream!)

If you need the box, buy it.

If you're hoping to make money on the deal, I dunno! An old truck is like a "boat" -- "a hole in the water in which to sink money"....

my .25 worth

Did'ja notice what I typed about the two different widths of the upper mouldings?

I did that because this bed is not from a 1967.

It has a marker lamp on it that was not available until 1968.

1967's have 1 1/4" wide upper mouldings. 1968's could have either 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" wide upper mouldings.

1969's have 1 1/2" wide upper mouldings. These same upper mouldings were used on 1970/72 Customs/Sport Customs.

that would still work just fine for me, Bill, I'm not doing a correct restore on mine, I'm just putting all the pieces I like from all the different years. I can't see the pic of it here at work, I'll check it out at home. But still sounds like a good deal.

It's a super-duper deal.

All the pieces you like from different years, huh? Careful with those upper side mouldings.

I can see it now...cuz if you don't measure first, the following might occur.

The upper fender moulding is 1 1/4" wide, the upper door moulding is 1 1/2" wide.

The upper cab moulding behind the door is 1 1/4" wide, the upper bed moulding is 1 1/2'" wide.

You'll look at that puppy and wonder what the hell is wrong with your eyes!

Yeah, that would be my luck, not paying attention! Well, the cab I now have is already a 68, the frame a 67, and I'm not sure what year the 390 is!

BTW, you'll be proud of me Bill, I've been learing how to use that parts CD I bought!
