Hello All,
So a few weeks ago I decided that I needed/wanted a truck. I bought a 2004 F150 new, and just sold it this Spring. I've needed a truck about a billion times since then...
I looked at several and ended up buying this one. Originally, I wanted to buy a 1965ish, but came across this 69.
It's actually in pretty good shape. the bottom of the drivers door is fairly rusty, but the rest of the truck is actually pretty nice.
The bed and frame is solid. The 351 runs great, and the 4 speed seems fine. Man this thing is geared low!
I'm sad that it's not 4WD, but I don't really need that anyway....
We have a Jeep Commander for Winter travel.
The seller wanted 1500, I got him down to 12.
I plan on actually not doing much of anything to it! The brakes and tires are good, so I'm just going to use it as is.
I'm going to use it for going to the dump, lumber yard, etc....
You sure it's a 1969? The grill makes it a 1970 doesn't it? The 69 grill should be full metal or chrome bars across the entire thing like my truck right? I guess it's not to important...

The title says 1969... and my insurance pulled up a 1969 Ford F250 just by telling them the Vin...
I don't know these trucks well enough yet... I've got alot to learn.
Any other tips/tricks/concerns about this truck that I should know about?
I know quite a bit about my truck, which is pretty much identical, but most of what i learned it came over the years as it will for you. LMC truck is a good place to get stock parts for your truck. If you got a little money and time, i would rebuild the motor (all new gaskets), change the fluid in the rear end, flush the radiator, all new fluids, if you really want. Get a new carb or rebuild the one it has, or maybe its not that old. Electronic ignition is very nice, i dont know if you have it, Pertronix has a nice kit, otherwise go with a newer distributor with electronic ignition. Replace spark plugs, wires, all hoses, and you can switch to an electric fuel pump which is pretty nice...there's alot you can do, that is if you have the money and you feel like doing it. All of this would really help you out and it would run alot better and be more reliable but its your choice, and if you did everything i said, it'd probably run close to $600 or so, just an estimate.
the front is a 72 but the bed is a 69, i would try to find the VIN on the frame (i forget where it is but there are lots here who know) my guess is at one point there were 2 trucks one a 69 and one a 72 and someone put them together to get this truck and used the 69 driver door (where the vin plate is located) but used the 72 front clip and who know what else too. but its not really a big deal as all the parts should be the same between 69 and 72. nice looking truck.

Thinking the Government stimulus plan is working is like thinking that taking water form the deep end of a pool and dumping it in the shallow end will raise the water level of the pool.

351? No 351 engines until 1977. If it is a 351, how many valve cover bolt holes per side does it have?
1968/72 F250: The 360 2V or 390 2V were the only V8's available, have 5 valve cover bolt holes per side.
Your truck has a 1971/72 F100/350 grille, 1970/72 F100/350 parking lights.
Are you sure this is a 1969? Post the last 6 digits of the VIN to verify the year.
The doors are the same: 1968/72 F100/350 // 1967 doors are 1967 ONLY.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ Brady: What is the difference between a 1967 Styleside bed and one from a 1972?
Nothing, all 1967/72 beds are the same. The only differences are the marker lights, side mouldings.
If the truck had the auxillary tank, the hole had to be cut out for the filler neck, as Ford did not furnish a left quarter panel with the hole in it.
This truck appears to have a genuine Ford (optional) 25 gallon auxillary tank. The location of the filler neck is the same: 1967/69.
1970/72, the filler neck is below the scallop line (bumpside).
