I thought some of you might like to see how big the Titan 67 gallon fuel tank is vs stock. I pulled the bed to spray some Eastwood extreme chassis black, install MBRP 4" exhaust, and install the Titan 67 tank. I didn't need to pull the bed, but it made it easy to spray the frame.
The tank is huge!
I was going to take a pic of the tank installed with the bed off, but I forgot.

looks good man i would love to have that extra fuel. does it just bolt up and use the existing wires(for the fuel gauge). what all did you have to buy with it or did it come with it. and how much did that cost if you don't mind me asking.

Nice.
I love big fuel tanks, you can drive farther than your butt and/or bladder will allow and still have plenty of fuel to get to the next station.

WOW! Massive!!! I've thought about getting the 52(55?) gallon tank for my shortie... with luck I'd almost do 1,000 miles. (sad side note: my 96 Passat TDI with 19 gallon tank can almost do that distance now...but it'll never tow a gooseneck!!)

The tanks comes with everything you need to bolt it up. It was really easy to do if you have the tools and some mechanical skills. The Titan tank cost just under $1400 bucks shipped. A lot I know, I would have liked a new intercooler, but the extra range is worth it to me. As Kwikkordead said I'll have to pull over to take a wee more than I'll need to fill up my truck. I know it will add a lot of weight when it's full, but I'll be able to buy my diesel when I find it at a good price. The tank has pros & cons but what really made me buy one is the extended range, if I'm pulling my trailer and can't get into a diesel pump at the gas station I can just go on to the next one. It really sucks that so many gas cars block the diesel pump when they get gas.
Note: I paid about $1200 bucks, $1400 is the shipped price from Titan. If you look around you can find it for around $1200.
Nice! Thanks for sharing that. Way down the line, this is something I would like to do as well. Too bad Titan's shortbed version isn't as big as yours though. I believe they have a 47 and a 51 gallon tank for the shortbed. A 67 gallon tank would be great.
Off the subject a lil bit, but how hard was it to remove the bed? The bolts and then disconnect tail light wiring and filler neck, or is it a little more involved?

I have this tank as well it's nice to able to pull trailers without stopping for 600mi. The only things I don't like is no baffles in the tank so fuel sloshes and you will feel a thump under the cab at anything around 3/4 of a tank. The next thing I don't like is mine loves to spit a lot of fuel when filling when pump shuts off. I made sure there was no low spots in vent line to trap fuel. Titan says the rollover valve needs bigger holes drilled in it. And lastly I felt uncomfortable with only 2 straps holding the tank up so I added another one on the nose of the tank to help support it a little better afterall it's like 550 lbs full of fuel. With this being said it is very nice replacement tank that utilizes all the factory stuff from the old tank. It must have been a little faster with bed off especially for the vent lines.
My envy meter is running on high. I have been eyeballing that thing for a while now. Titan also makes a tank that goes where your spare fits and transfers into your stock tank, I think it runs at 40+ gals for a total fuel haul in at 80 gals...

Sounds like the Titan Tank like the stocker has a fill tube and air vent tube that extend down into the tank. You should do to the Titan Tank that
many do to the stock tank, and that is to "Harpoon" it. Harpooning the tank is to cut off the fill and air vent tubes as close to the top of the tank
as possible. PVC pipe ratchet cutters work the best. No more "spitting" after that is done.
get a shop to build you a custom slip tank that goes in the box of your truck. They don't take up that much space and are easy to remove when you need the bed, you can tie it into your tank, or buy a pump. these are way cheaper.
But if you want bed space you can use one of these. I'd like to see how one of these holds up on gravel.
