Horn guts - number dummy help

When I purchased my 65 the horn was activated by a button on the dash and the horn button was in a box. Well the dash button is gone (along with all the other hacks) and I'm restoring the steering wheel and plan on restoring the horn to factory. The button (std Cab) has the index plate, and all parts. I think what is missing is a spring and the two horn contact bushings. It seems that all the catalogs don't list parts for our years and some list a range that includes our years. So before I order on the assumption these are the right parts :

1. Is there a spring under the index plate
2. Are the contact bushings the same NPD/Macs lists for earlier years?

any one have a picture of the horn internals?

Thanks

CODF13A807B .. Spring / Use with Horn Button only / The spring for the horn ring is different, 1961/66 4WD is different / Obsolete

Fits: 1961/66 F100/250 2WD // 1967/70 F100/350 // 1960/63 Falcon/Comet.

PARTS INTERNATIONAL in Farmers Branch TX has THREE = 888-727-0418.

JST AUTOMOTIVE in Lebanon TN has THREE = 615-443-3086.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has FIVE = 800-543-4959.
-----------------------------------------------------------
C2OZ13A821A .. Horn Brush & Insulator Kit / Use with horn ring or horn button / Obsolete

Fits: 1961/66 F100/250 2WD // 1967/70 F100/350 // 1962/64 Falcon/Comet/Fairlane // 1963/64 Galaxie // 1965 Mustang w/a generator (before 8/23/64) // 1964/66 T-Bird.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has 24 = 606-787-5293.

GREEN SALES CO. has 131.

PARTS INTERNATIONAL has 50.
-------------------------------
What is an index plate? Are you speaking of the three eared plastic retainer (C2DZ13A809A) that retains the horn button (or ring) to the wheel?

Remove the 3 screws, then the retainer, the plate behind it, you will find a rubber cushion (CODZ13A813A), which has prolly flattened out.

Most ppl are totally unaware this part exists. When it flattens out, the horn blows constantly, prolly why someone rigged up that mickey-mouse horn button.

Lemme know if you need these two additional parts.

The 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com.

With 1,961 pages of illustrations, you'll never need to ask for another picture again.

Illustration Section 35, Page 8. The entire set-up is shown.

Once again - Thanks Bill that answered it 100%. I knew about the rubber bushing and will order that as well. Macs has these parts:

Rubber bushing: codz-134813-ar
Contact Brush (believe I need two) c2oz-13a821-ar

But they only have the spring for the C.C. - codz-13a807-b

I'll call green sales and hope they have all the pieces.

Only one horn brush/insulator is required.

Look at the outside of the wheel, how many holes do you see?

There's only one, where these parts fit.

Remove the R from the part numbers suffix, that's a Mac's add-on.

CODZ13A813A .. Horn Pad / Obsolete / GREEN SALES = ZERO.

FITZPATRICK & LAMBERT in Dushore PA has ONE = 570-928-8184.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has ONE = 606-787-5293.

RAY MOTOR CO. in Hillsboro NC has TWO = 919-732-8118.

ED BUTTS FORD in La Puente CA has TWO = 800-960-3673 / 626-918-3673.

Too bad I didn't know this in advance, I woulda got them. I was there yesterday having my car serviced.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C2DZ13A809A .. Horn Ring/Button Plastic Retainer / Obsolete

KOVATCH FORD in Nesquehoning PA has THREE = 570-669-5118.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 35 = 800-543-4959.

This puppy breaks all the time, so...even if you don't need it now...you will at some point.

What a 17080 off!

I sold more of those C2OZ13A821A's, C2DZ13A809A's than you've ever seen...or will see...if you live to be 150!

Heck, Ed...you were a parts driver long after either one a these parts were used.

Which means, by the time you made it as full fledged partsman, you prolly didn't sell more than a coupla each.

I was a partsman when you were still wearing diapers...wouldn't surprise me a bit...if you're still wearing them.

I'm sooo thankful that you told me that...I'm gonna remember you in my will.

I'll leave you all my debts!

I'm sure you're happy that you found that out as well, cuz you can still be wearing them...when you're my age.
